On February 16, 2023, two bills were introduced into the Minnesota Legislature: House Bill HF 1924 and Senate Bill HS 1807. The bills would appropriate $72 million for expansion of the University of Minnesota Medical School to a campus at CentraCare in St. Cloud.
HF 1924 was authored by Representative Dan Wolgamott (DFL) and co-authored by Representative Bernie Perryman (R).
HS 1807 was authored by Senator Aric Putnam (DFL) and co-authored by Senator Jeff How (R).
